Project background
In July 2021, a client in Taiwan contacted us. Due to the fact that he needed extra storage space to stock industrial materials, and also considered cost constraints as well as the limited space availability, he opted for a semi-permanent warehouse & storage tent instead of the traditional permanent steel structure warehouse. Undoubtedly, temporary tent buildings and especially semi-permanent warehouse & storage tents have more advantages in terms of cost effectiveness, flexibility in mobility, fast re-action to space emergency demand and space utilization.Challenge & Solution
In order to solve the issue of space limitation and to achieve the max space utilization, after discussion, the client made the decision for our standard warehouse tent, the M series of 15x50m tent. There was the challenge that the forklifts need to access for operation, in order to meet the accessibility, we incorporated the automatic roll-up door. (For extra information, our M series has various sizes, normally with A-shape roof, and can be customized due to specific customized demands.) Furthermore, considering the frequent heavy winds in the local area, plus especially typhoon climate happens a lot in Taiwan, the required wind load needed to be up to 130km/h, which also made a challenge to our frame structure. With comprehensive mechanical calculations by our internal technical team, we provided the solution that including (but not limit to) thicken the frame thickness, equipping extra wind-resistant steel cables, together with the securing fasteners.

Outcome
Fit for purpose
Considered forklifts and other industrial vehicles need to enter the warehouse, automatic roll-up door was one of the best option. From pre-communication, designing and delivery, we consider the situation from the client’s perspective, and make it into suggestion, application and finally into reality.
Building Stability
By reinforcing material thickness and additional structural component parts, the warehouse’s structure achieve more stable and sturdy. Facing harsh weather, especially heavy winds and rains, the whole alu frame including the tent fabric solution ensures the stocking materials to be safe and dry.
